Leadership Development Community

Imagine having the ability to instill leadership throughout the ranks of your entire management. Person-by-person, from the inside-out. Think of the competitive advantage it would give you. And how powerful your organization could become.

That's the goal of the Leadership Development Community®. It's a process that was custom-designed for one of our most progressive, forward-thinking clients. Once their top executives began to experience the rewards of one-on-one coaching, they asked us to develop a process that would spread the practices and concepts of leadership throughout the ranks of the organization. So we did.

The result was the Leadership Development Community®. It's a custom-designed program that provides an ongoing conversation among managers about how to become more effective leaders. It's a year long process as opposed to a training seminar. It not only develops leaders, it creates an internal community of leaders dedicated to improving their own effectiveness - and the effectiveness of those around them.

In an age where everyone feels like there's too much to do and not enough time to do it in, managers not only find the time to participate, they volunteer to participate. We make it possible by designing and integrating the process into their normal world of work. Managers volunteer in record numbers because they've witnessed and experienced the positive effects of our brand of leadership development on their top executives. They understand the benefits of becoming more effective leaders.

They understand that leaders are accountable for impact. They inspire the organization to imagine a new and exciting future. They influence people to face problems and issues in light of an organization's vision. They mobilize people to take positive action.

The process works. The Leadership Development Community® uses presentations, exercises, small group discussions and individual reflection to educate and inspire its participants. Over the course of a year, managers participate in five, half-day community sessions. Each session is spent on a principle theme of leadership. The five themes are:

Authenticity - the Soul of Leadership
Accountability - the First Choice of Leadership
Intentionality - the Purpose of Leadership
Courage - the Heart of Leadership
Alacrity - the Energy of Leadership

Between each half-day session, managers meet for group coaching sessions over lunch. In a relaxed environment, they discuss how they're applying the lessons learned at the community sessions. They share insight. They share their experiences. They conduct live problem solving. They develop long-lasting relationships built on mutual respect. They become an internal community of leaders.

Every few weeks, they meet in groups of three over breakfast. These triads allow them to continue their dialogue on leadership in a more relaxed setting. In these sessions, they discuss how they've incorporated the principles of leadership into their daily actions and the impact it's had on their work and those they work with.

By focusing your management on the practices and concepts of leadership throughout the course of a year, the Leadership Development Community® provides your organization with a key, competitive advantage. And a tremendous opportunity to transform its culture from the inside-out.

"Their approach works because they know what they’re doing. It’s built on experience. They’ve looked at executives, executive teams and business performance from a perspective of making people work better – alone and together. They know how to help us do that. It’s great."
