Gary L. Saltus, DO, practiced as a certified Cardiovascular Surgeon for twenty years. As president of the Medical Staff at Doctors Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, he helped facilitate the redesigning of that organization and its structure. He chaired or served on the many administrative committees of the medical staff, including the Board of Trustees. This led to the utilization of his skills on a national level with the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons while serving on its Board of Governors.

He has since become a certified coach through the Hudson Institute in Santa Barbara, CA. He is the President and Founder of Longevity Guide LLC, working with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare workers to transition change in the health care arena.

He has completed the Clinical, Organization Systems Development and Group Tracts at the Gestalt Institute of Cleveland. He also completed the Emotional Intelligence Certificate Program at CWRU Weatherhead School of Management. Gary utilizes the Gestalt theory and methodology in his coaching practice designed around managing life and work transitions. He guides organizations, groups, and individuals to manage and lead change across the dynamic field of health care.

Gary himself admits to knowing a lot about life transitions. Having survived several serious illnesses himself, he now uses this experience to work with others. He uses this experience to work with patients to transition their lives after surviving serious illness. Gary is presently working with the James Cancer Center "Care for Life" in the family program working with the survivors and their partners to transition their lives. He is also working with the Wellness Center of Columbus, Ohio, facilitating a program for breast cancer survivors, as well as working with the organization as they undergo a major transition.

Gary lives with his wife in Columbus, Ohio. He has been an associate of the O'Brien Group since 2005.
